Quilting for Christmas – Holiday 2007
From small quick-stitch projects, such as table runners and banners, to larger items, including lap- and twin-size quilts, we’ve tried to feature a wide assortment of festive designs.
Panel prints and novelty fabrics are always popular around the holidays, and we have plenty of those. (If you buy a kit from the magazine, be sure to order early. Some of our past kits have sold out quickly!) For those who love to piece, we have challenging projects just for you! Check out our Candlelit Noel banner and our Holiday Nutcracker. You’ll have to get an early start on those!
Is appliqué your pleasure? We have so many appliqué patterns in this issue that we almost couldn’t fit them in our tear-out section! Turn to the Welcoming Winter wall hanging, the batik Poinsettia Table Runner , and our Under the Lights quilt, to name just a few.

No time to shop? We combed the Web for some of the best country stores around—and we found them right in Amish country! Friends and neighbors of the Amish see to it that their wares are well represented online.
What would the holidays be without a visit to a favorite designer? Debbie “Granola Girl” Field, whose books, patterns, and fabrics are devoted to the great outdoors, seemed like the perfect choice for a winter issue. Come with us as we visit her beautiful lakefront home in northern Wisconsin, where winter fun is a family affair—complete with snowman contests!
